SECOND QUARTER 2026 5
Advancing Education, Research,
and Connection
A
s we welcome Spring 2026, there is renewed
optimism across our industry. Cleaner
Supply’s recent survey data shows that
58% of drycleaners reported increased sales in 2024,
and 56% are now operating above pre-pandemic
(2019) levels—clear signs that demand continues to
rebound and stabilize.
EDUCATION
In keeping with our mission—to empower our
community of fabricare professionals and elevate the
industry through education, research, and advocacy—
DLI continues to advance its strategic planning ini
tiatives. A major focus is the development of a com
prehensive Learning Management System (LMS),
designed to centralize decades of DLI research,
training, and educational content into a modern,
scalable platform. This system will deliver flexible,
self-paced, 24/7 learning across a wide range of indus
try topics, ensuring members can access high-quality
education whenever and wherever they need it.
RESEARCH
On the research front, we are excited to see DLI
CEO Mary Scalco expanding her impact through her
involvement with the Association of American Tex
tile Chemists and Colorists, further strengthening
the connection between textile science and practical
industry application.
CONNECTION
DLI is also expanding its presence across social
media to provide a more well-rounded view of our
industry. In the coming months, you’ll see increased
engagement through content that highlights mem
ber businesses, showcases real-world operations, and
shares practical insights from across the fabricare
community. These efforts are designed to elevate
awareness, strengthen connections, and better tell
the story of our industry to both members and the
broader public.
DLI continues to strengthen alignment with our
regional associations. You can expect increased en
gagement from the DLI team at regional board
meetings nationwide, providing updates, fostering
collaboration, and creating more opportunities for
meaningful dialogue with our members.
Finally, we also look forward to connecting with
many of you at both DL Expo West and DL Expo
East. These events continue to be a valuable oppor
tunity to share knowledge, explore new innovations,
and strengthen the relationships across our industry.
